Synopsis

शिक्षा का मुख्य लक्ष्य बालकों के व्यवहार में विकास एवं परिवर्तन करना है। शोध कार्यों द्वारा ज्ञान वृद्धि के साथ मानव विकास तथा कल्याण को महत्व दिया जाता है। अनुसंधान तथा शिक्षण क्रियाओं द्वारा इन लक्ष्यों की प्राप्ति की जा सकती है।
शिक्षण की समस्याओं तथा बालक के व्यवहार के विकास संबंधी समस्याओं तथा बालक के व्यवहार के विकास संबंधी समस्याओं का अध्ययन करने वाली प्रक्रिया को शिक्षा अनुसंधान कहते हैं। शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में नवाचार को लाने के लिए अनुसंधान बहुत ही आवश्यक है। शिक्षण अधिगम प्रक्रिया को अधिक से अधिक प्रभावशाली बनाने के लिए अनवरत शैक्षिक अनुसंधान की आवश्यकता है।
शिक्षा के अनेक संबंधित क्षेत्र एवं विषय हैं, जैसे, शिक्षा का इतिहास, शिक्षा का समाजशास्त्र, शिक्षा का मनोविज्ञान, शिक्षा-दर्शन, शिक्षण विधि ायाँ, शिक्षा तकनीकी, अध्यापक एवं छात्र, मूल्यांकन, मार्गदर्शन, शिक्षा के आर्थिक आधार, शिक्षा-प्रबंधन, शिक्षा की मूलभूत समस्याएँ आदि। इन सभी क्षेत्रों में बदलते हुए परिवेश एवं परिवर्तित परिस्थितियों के अनुकूल वर्तमान ज्ञान के सत्यापन एवं वैधता-परीक्षण की निरंतर आवश्यकता बनी रहती है। यह कार्य शिक्षा-अनुसंधान के द्वारा ही सम्पन्न होता है। इस प्रकार शिक्षा-अनुसंधान शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में वर्तमान एवं पूर्वस्थित ज्ञान का परीक्षण एवं सत्यापन तथा नये ज्ञान का विकास करने की एक विधा, एक प्रक्रिया है। शिक्षा के प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में अनेक प्रकार की समस्याएँ समय-समय पर सामने आती हैं। उनके समाधान खोजना भी आवश्यक होता है।
